Emmy-nominated executive Christina Fon is the VP of Strategic Partnerships & Scripted Content at Shaftesbury, an award-winning creator and producer of content for television. Christina previously served as Executive Producer of the Crave/APTN/PBS/Fremantle Original series, Little Bird which swept the 2024 Canadian Screen Awards with 13 wins and 19 nominations.
Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Christina is of Hungarian-Jewish heritage and is the daughter of Holocaust survivors. Over her career spanning more than two decades, Christina has made a great impact on the global entertainment industry by establishing exceptional international relationships. Her contributions have earned her several accolades, including the esteemed Sundance and Peabody Awards, multiple Canadian Screen Awards as well as a 2020 Emmy nomination.
Christina has negotiated successful production deals and orchestrated the greenlight on several projects that have marked the landscape of the global television industry and the big screen including, Mohawk Girls, now streaming on Universal NBC’s Peacock, RUMBLE: the Indians Who Rocked the World, now on Netflix and Reel Injun, now in the Academy Museum in LA.
Christina’s success can be attributed to the glowing reputation she has built with her investment partners, her ability to source winning IPs, maintain strong stakeholder relations and close successful deals. Christina has collaborated with several international distributors & broadcasters, including Fremantle, Netflix, NBCUniversal, ARTE, PBS, Bell Media/CRAVE, CBC, Radio Canada, and APTN.
In addition to Christina’s contributions to the film and television industry, she is the co-founder of Minority Media, now known as Meta4 Interactive, a video game company that revolutionized the gaming industry with the launch of the award-winning game Papo & Yo. This innovative title effectively gave rise to a new genre of interactive entertainment known today as “empathy games”. Meta4 Interactive also specializes in creating immersive Virtual Reality experiences.
