Laura Michalchyshyn is Chief Creative Officer at Blue Ant Media. Based in the global media company’s New York office, she oversees content creation and development across the business’ numerous production companies in North America and Asia-Pacific, with a focus on expanding content slates globally.
A passionate creative, she has served as executive producer on projects including Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies (Peacock), The Kids in the Hall: Comedy Punks (Prime Video), Prince Andrew: Banished (Peacock), Evil By Design: Surviving Nygard (Starz and CBC), Epstein’s Shadow: Ghislaine Maxwell (Peacock, Sky) and Canada’s Drag Race (Crave/Bell). Independent from her work at Blue Ant Studios, she recently produced the NAACP Award-winning and Emmy-nominated feature documentary John Lewis: Good Trouble, directed by Dawn Porter.
Previously, Michalchyshyn co-founded Sundance Productions with Robert Redford, where she served as president and executive produced projects including CNN’s Death Row Stories and HBO’s Emmy Award-winning Momentum Generation. She has held senior executive roles in the U.S. and Canada for Sundance Channel, Alliance Atlantis Media and Discovery, where during her tenure she commissioned hundreds of hours of programming.
Michalchyshyn has produced content for entertainment and media platforms worldwide, partnering with talent, studios and production companies including World of Wonder, Radical Media, Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Media, Dawn Porter’s Trilogy Films, Isabella Rossellini, Stephen David Entertainment, Brick City TV and All Rise Productions. Her accolades include three News and Documentary Emmys, a Sports Emmy, several Canadian Screen Awards and awards from GLAAD, the International Documentary Association (IDA) and Peabody.
