Originally from Mexico City, Montserrat Gómez moved to Los Angeles to attend USC’s Peter
Stark Producing program, where she earned her MFA. Montserrat joined Universal Television in
2022. She’s currently Vice President of Drama Development.
Prior to joining UTV, Montserrat worked at Ava DuVernay’s production company, ARRAY,
supervising development for a scripted and unscripted slate of projects, as well as current
productions. She was also previously a scripted executive at Jeffrey Katzenberg’s Quibi, and
prior to that, a creative executive at Christopher McQuarrie’s production company. She
launched her career in her nave Mexico overseeing development and production on a number
of successful local language shows for Televisa/Univision.
Montserrat is an avid yogi, foodie, and adventurous traveler. She is a passionate advocate for
underrepresented voices, and is involved with initiatives such as The Black List’s Latinx TV Lists,
Untitled Latinx Project, LATB, and NALIP.
