Spencer Griffin is currently the Head of TV Development for Just For Laughs. In his career, he has sold, developed, and/or Executive Produced shows for Amazon, Audible, Bell, CBC, Comedy Central, CW, E!, Freeform, HBO, Hulu, IFC, Meta, MTV, NBC, PopTV, Sony, Starz, TruTV, and more. Spencer has previously held Development and Executive positions at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, Big Breakfast, and CollegeHumor. He was recognized with a Webby and Telly Award for his co-direction and production of a rap video starring a rapping First Lady Michelle Obama.
Spencer Griffin is an Executive Producer of “Adam Ruins Everything” (TruTV), “Humour Resources” (CBC), “Hot Date” (Pop), “The Middle of the Night Show” (MTV), and “Comedy Music Hall of Fame” (IFC). In digital, Spencer executive produced “CollegeHumor” (YouTube), “I Want My Phone Back” (Facebook Watch), “Bad Internet” and “Rhett and Link’s Buddy System” (YouTube Red), “Fatal Decision” (go90), and “The Britishes” (Audience). Griffin has also produced for Jason Bateman and Will Arnett’s comedy enterprise, DumbDumb.
His production of the one-man play, Catalpa, received a five-star rating at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and won the LA Weekly Theatre Award for Best Performance.
Spencer has been a speaker at SXSW, Just For Laughs, ATX, Future of Television Conference, Social Media Week, and more. And has taught courses and workshops at the comedy schools Upright Citizen’s Brigade and The Pack Theater and has guest lectured at The University of Iowa and USC Cinematic Arts.
